Yippee!
My new suit has arrived. It’s a little bit moth-eaten (but not overly so and is quite wearable), a little bit grubby and is wonderfully comfortable.
It’s dated 10/60, made by a London tailor. It’s beautiful in fit and construction - yet another case of buying someone else’s bespoke clothes that seem to fit me exactly.
The best thing is that for a suit made at the...
Yay!
My mum’s smoking in the house! *Happydance*
I now have...
a scarlet slip-over, knitted for me by my mother to a 1930s/40s pattern. It was a Christmas present, but she finished it this evening.
When I first put it on I made a noise in my head that went something like;
“AAGAAGAGGLELLAAGAGRGEFGAAILOVEITSOMUCHWHATAJUMPERI’LLNEVERWEARANOTHERJUMPERGAAIN!”
And then simply said to my mother;
“Oh, thank you, mum! It’s...
skardebourg answered your question: Why would anybody buy a zoot-suit? Just… why!?
:O When I last asked you about zootsuits you said they were great because they make your legs look longer! Again: :O
Oh Lawd, now I’m confused! The high-waisted trousers bit certainly does but the jackets keep terrifying me. I stumbled upon an American website selling them and… they’re...

But… but… Thunder Bluff music is so beautiful; it really melts my heart. And Stormwind’s theme is filled with fictional patriotism, it’s excellent.
It is, and that is why I buy it. Then, if I want to hear a certain piece, I have that play on repeat for my entire play session.
skardebourg replied to your video: Lovely tango, and lovely pictures too.
I didn’t understand why I could hear a massive choral orchestration… then i realised that WoW was minimised. -_-
I never play WoW with the music turned on. I’d rather have my own music and if I want to hear theirs I’ll buy the soundtrack.
During the 1930s...
(and possibly earlier and I think into the ’40s and ’50s) the BBC ran a dance service from seven in the evening until two in the morning, with live dance bands playing.
If only whole programmes could’ve been recorded on tape or something similar by enthusiasts, as the BBC have lost many of their original recordings, both of television and radio or they’ve simply decayed....
Why, oh why, oh why...
are Woodbine cigarettes so expensive? £7.05 for a packet of twenty. It makes me cringe.
Once the ubiquitous cigarette of the British working class, and of the British soldier, it’s now… unaffordable. My grandfather smoked them at the age of ten, for 2d a packet of 5. Tuppence, for five! *sigh*

I LISTEN TO COUNTRY MUSIC! If that makes you feel any better. But I hate spray-on cheese…
I’m desperate to try this… thing… that is spray-on cheese. When my friends and I first discovered it we talked about it for three days.
Which is probably a reflection on how sad we are.
I’m also quite afraid that I...

an American’s ‘About Me’ and they don’t like Country Music a little part of me dies.
I don’t know why. It sounds awfully negative as well, but I don’t mean it in such a way. I have a really bizarre mixed image of Cary Grant listening to Dolly Parton and eating spray-on cheese.
I hope nobody takes offense at this. I wish I had the money to holiday in America.

To all my new followers,
Thank you! I’ve never done a ‘Thanks, new people’ post before. I probably should’ve done. I feel a little rude now. Still, thank you everybody.
Why is the American eBay so much better than the...
If only the shipping were cheaper, the suits a teensy bit more affordable…
Or I could do a P.G Wodehouse and go to live in America.

I found on my shelf a 1926 ‘Oliver & Boyd’s Educational Series’ history book, aimed at children between five and ten. It’s an amazing read - my children will definitely learn (1) to read and (2) basic history from it.
Time for a (very) small rant.
WHY ARE THERE NOT EVEN SEWING PATTERNS FOR SPEARPOINT COLLAR SHIRTS? WHY!?
There. I’m done.

Anonymous asked: I'm dreading going back to college. The workload, plus some people there just make you want to hit them. Well, one person. Advise me please? I mean, much as I'd LOVE to hit the person I want to hit, I also don't want a criminal record. However, this person has made this year a misery for me, whilst manipulating almost everyone around me.
